*Stock is now very limited. For the current position please check the Shop page*
Thank you everyone for your fantastic response to our new Friday Polo batch. So far we have sold 130 of the 200 in this batch, and navy has sold out in medium and large.
The polos started being sent out on Tuesday, so should all go this week and be received next week. You can continue to purchase on the shop page (not through email and PayPal please, as previously).
Stock on the colours and sizes apart from navy is good, but I will update these posts and the shop page when we start to run low. I know a lot of readers wanted to try the sizing before ordering more.
Answers to a few questions that have been raised over email:
- There is no VAT on these polos, as I am an individual not registered for VAT. So everyone in Europe, you’re getting them 20% cheaper. Everyone else – I’m afraid there’s no VAT to take off.
- Please be careful with washing, as with all fine shirts. Wash cool and line dry.
- We do plan to have another batch of the polos later in the year, probably at the start of the summer – although I was hoping this batch would stick around in the stock for a bit longer than the last one.
Of course, one of the nice things about running a small, online operation like this is the personal questions and emails we get from people around the world – everywhere from Peru to Beijing.
Many of those leave lovely feedback, and I thought I’d share a handful of those:
- “I have just returned to Abu Dhabi after a long business trip to find that my shirts have arrived. I am delighted with them. Thank you very much indeed.” Shehzaad
- “I’ve received my (grey small) Friday Polo and it’s fantastic – really like the fabric, shape and quality – and I think it’s better than a [John Smedley] Dorset under tailoring.” Richard
- “I love my navy!” Rob
- “Very impressed with the Friday polo….I love it!” Cody
- “I’ve tried so many polos and this one was instantly my favourite – fabric/buttons/collar area and fit” Ben

Dear Simon,
my green und grey polos arrived in Germany yesterday. The material is wonderful, soft yet substancial, the arms are longish which is good after a few washes and under jackets. Nice little touch is the soft pouch the shirts came in. The package even smelled nicely! I look forward to wearing them!
Depite your proclaimed preference for the Sebastian Polo from Orlebar Brown for casual summer moments, I am convinced that s short sleeve version of the Friday Polo (Saturday Polo?), slightly smaller collar, lighter cotton would be an instant hit! Just a thought.
Thanks and regards, Jan
Thanks. We’ll bear it in mind
Hi Simon,
May be a bit of a stupid question, but are these polo shirts “alterable” by a tailor?
Cheers
A shirtmaker would be able to narrow it yes. But you can’t make it bigger as there is no excess material
Simon,
Please let us know if/when the navy is restocked. I’d like to jump on a medium next time.
Cheers,
Michael
Sure Michael. I am happy to run a waiting list as last time if you want me to put you on it
Hi Simon, i would also be interested in a navy and a green polo shirt and would likely be between medium and large, as I would usually go for a 50 L in suits / jackets.
Do you already have a date for the arrival of the new batch of polos?
Many thanks, Carl
No, not yet, but you can put yourself on the waiting list if you would like – email me [email protected]
Cheers
Mine arrived today.
Ordered large (2 Navy, 1 Grey) – fabulous fit and colour really stands up under a jacket. Which, was the whole point for me.
Grey is a great shade and providing they wash well, I will be a happy bunny.
Simon, may I ask how these shirts compare in fit and collar stand to Lino’s Al Bazar polos please?
I don’t have any anymore, so I can’t compare the measurements. But the collar is not quite as high, it is slightly slimmer in the waist, and it is longer in the body.
Thanks.
Any inspiration on what to wear with the navy one? The material is beautiful and I love the way it looks on its own but it feels a bit 80s on me when I wear it under a jacket. I think I’m just not used to such a dark color against a jacket (or maybe it’s my pasty complexion) but any tips much appreciated!
I like it with mid to dark greys as well, but I know what you mean – it takes a while to get a hang of the colours when you start wearing dark shirts
I’m wearing mid (powder blue ) & Golden brown A&S suits with my navy and it looks great.
Also goes great with lilac cords or jeans.
Love the collar!
Hallo Jan,
könntest du mir mal bitte deine E-Mail Adresse geben?
Würde dich gerne noch ein paar Sachen zu dem Polo fragen.
Gruß
Sebastian

In English if possible…
I don’t suppose you would have any more picture of Michael’s coat in your blog post. It’s looks absolutely amazing.
Hi,
I’ll have a look, but only one or two I think. It’s definitely worth emailing Michael about it separately though. It was design he made for himself, as a more casual, weekend style.
Thanks Simon.
I don’t suppose you could email Michael’s contact as well?
Regards,
I’d rather not share his personal one, but you can contact him through [email protected]
Thanks
Hi Simon,
If you are going to put together a waiting list I’d love a green in small. I was stupid not to jump on one quicker! Thanks.
Wilf.
Hi Simon,
My polos arrived today, both green and navy. I just want to say that the fit is amazing, and the details set them apart from other polos I handled. Very very happy.
Best,
Hi Simon,
Do you have any plans to re-stock the long-sleeve option again this year?
Regards
Charles
Yes, it should be here in a couple of weeks…
Hi Simon,
I was checking my own measurements against the polo sizing, and i’m kinda in between a small and medium. For example, chest = 104, waist = 94, but shoulder is 44. What size do you think i should go for?
cheers
It’s really up to you as to whether you prefer a slightly close for or loose in those areas. The material has a lot of stretch, but it won’t grow permanently
Hi Simon,
The polos look beautiful and i’m sure the quality is superb. Would you happen to have any images of the entire garment available?
Best,
Thomas
