Next month, on June 17th, we will be holding a follow-up to our shoemakers event at Pitti in January.
This time we are focusing on the best tailors in the world, and I’m proud to say that we will have Cifonelli, Anderson & Sheppard, Panico, Liverano, Richard Anderson and Edward Sexton on the stage, presenting their bespoke cutting styles to the audience of buyers and media.
The event is being organised with Vitale Barberis Canonico and Stefano Bemer, and The Rake is the official publication.
As before, there will be a roundtable discussion and presentation at the Stefano Bemer atelier, followed by a party. If any Permanent Style readers would like to attend, we have 20 places available. Please email me at [email protected] if you would like one.
This sounds like a great gathering, will look forward to the post that follows. Would it be possible for the panel to consider the following questions; With the increasingly blurred edge in modern tailoring between formal and informal how do the participants see innovations in silhouettes and materials responding to the market? Your recent DB post might illustrate this point. Outside of office/formal environments the tie seems to also be beating a hasty retreat (decline in ranges of High Street vendors, greater social informality etc.). How might this affect the evolution (and social expectations) of the suit/shirt/tie (example – 19C to 20C – cravat to tie/morning suit to lounge suit etc.) ? Gazing into the future perahaps but I’m genuinely interested in their thoughts.
Sure, nice line
Any chance of a web broadcast, or is it being recorded and later published? Sure many of us would love to see it.
